Membership and Recognition: Beccles Society of Artists

I am a member of the Beccles Society of Artists, a local art community based in Beccles, Suffolk.The society brings together practicing artists working across painting, drawing, and mixed media, and regularly organizes exhibitions, talks, and public displays.

In May 2025, one of my acrylic paintings was selected as Picture of the Month by the society.The work was displayed publicly for a full month on the exhibition board in the Beccles Town Centre, making it accessible beyond a gallery context and into everyday urban space.

Later that year, during the Beccles Society of Artists Annual Summer Exhibition held in

August 2025 at Beccles Public Hall, my work received the Charles Jeffrey Award for Acrylic.This prize is awarded for the strongest acrylic painting in the exhibition and is judged within the category of professional and emerging local artists.

These moments are important to me not as accolades, but as markers of sustained, consistent practice - rooted in place, material, and long-term engagement with painting as a way of seeing and structuring reality.
